“I went into the studio to record my next solo album and ended up with a band!” – Dale Peterson
When Guitarist/Singer/Songwriter, Dale Peterson began sessions for his next solo album he wasn’t thinking of starting a band. But during the recording of “Time Machine” the personalities and musical styles immediately gelled and so Trouble No More was born.
Time Machine c2011 consists of ten Peterson originals plus a bonus track re-mix of “Rock On” – a rockin’ shuffle that gets a little twisted and psychedelic treatment. Time Machine has a heavy blues/rock quality with some R&B and some twangy surf sounds mixed in.
Steph Traino (Bass guitar & back up vocals) has been working off and on with Peterson ever since their days together in the Rhythm Lords. When the guys where considering a name for the group, Steph woke up one morning and it was in his head, Trouble No More! “It’s a positive name with a positive message” says Traino. Which is also a song title by the great, Muddy Waters. Steph has worked with producer Ken Scott, Singer/Songwriter Blonde Chaplin and laid down some tracks on Iggy Pop’s, Kill City.
A few years ago while Peterson was performing at The Cinema Bar in Culver City, he struck up a friendship with drummer, Hampton Flanagan. Hampton has recorded and performed with many talented singer/songwriters as well as playing in dozens of blues, surf, Latin and rock & roll bands throughout the Los Angeles area. Over the years he has toured with various groups in Europe and the United States.
Long time friend, Mike Malone plays piano and organ on the CD but he also shares lead vocal duties at the live shows by singing several of his own songs. Malone who has toured and worked extensively with sax legend, Joe Houston is also leader of his own group, Mike Malone and the Soul Collectors. He has a great CD titled, “Diamonds For Your Tears” and his latest CD is titled “Just Passin’ Thru” released in 2013.
Gerard Boisse plays alto, tenor and baritone sax for TNM and is a busy session player who is also currently a member of the band, Rusty Venture. Gerard came to the attention of Peterson and Traino at a jam session and after an impressive performance Gerard was invited to come down and play on the CD. The sessions went well and as they say – “The rest is history”!Share This :
